Midnight GST is a love language. It is not a process.

The bill is due tomorrow. The duty log is in three places. One of them is a notebook currently under a helmet.

Department billing has a schedule. It is called “the night before the client asks”. Extra kilometres appear. Extra hours appear. A rate that was agreed in a contract appears last, if it appears at all.

This is how a professional company starts to look informal. The cars were on time. The invoice was a reconstruction. Clients can forgive a traffic jam. They are less sentimental about a total that changed because someone added a row at 12:40.

A duty log that feeds the bill is not glamorous. It is the whole product. Base amount, extra km, extra hours, GST. The invoice should be a printout of work you already recorded, not a short story composed under pressure.

If you are still copying trips into a bill by hand, you are not “being careful”. You are retyping. Careful is checking the draft. Retyping is how 118 kilometres becomes 181 and nobody notices until the department does.

KABPRO’s billing is the unromantic kind. The month closes because the logs are already there. You can still stay up late. You just don’t have to do it for the invoice.
